SAVANNAH, GA (September 6, 2014) Kids, families and volunteers enjoyed Central Precinct’s last Roll Call in the Street for the summer in Cuyler Brownville today. The kickoff was at noon with actual Roll Call for officers at 2:30 p.m.
Families were able to bring out their chidren and enjoy refeshments, play football in Floyd Adams Park and gather information on ways to protect themselves, their homes and their property. Some of the other young adults also helped clean the park as part of Operation Clean Sweep.
With help from the SCMPD volunteers, kids in the community were able to help complete the “Kid Art” project. This is a canvas that has gone around to all the different Roll Calls just like the “Kid Prints” project from last year. It allows kids a chance to be a meaningful contributor in the social aspect of a community building. The finished canavases will be framed and donated to Candler Hospital to hang on the wall in the children’s wing.
