SAVANNAH, GA ( March 13, 2012) Savannah-Chatham Metro Police gear up for St. Patrick’s Day and announce a schedule of road closures to help keep the public informed.
Listed is a basic timeline of when some of the road closures and parking enforcement will take place.
Wednesday – Public Safety Corridor goes in on River Street. ( taken down on Monday)
Thursday – “ No Parking” signs go out for River Street ramps, 8:00 a.m., and City Market, 4:00 p.m. ( this means No Parking will be enforced the next day at the posted time)
Friday– “ No Parking” signs go out on Parade Route 1:00 p.m., and City market and River Street close to traffic at 5:00 p.m.
( Bay Street 6:00 p.m. contingent on pedestrian traffic)
Saturday– Traffic officers clear parade route, 6:00 a.m., road closure will take place between 7- 10:00 a.m., (depending on pedestrian traffic) Parade begins, !0:15 a.m. – River Street, City Market and Bay
Street closed to traffic
( deliveries on River Street until 10:00 a.m.) (City Market encompasses everything from Whitaker Street to MLK Blvd and Bay to Broughton streets. )
