SAVANNAH, GA ( May 3, 2011) Savannah-Chatham Metro Police assisted U.S. Marshals in the arrest of Pedro Walker Thursday night.
Just after 11 p.m., U.S. Marshals, along with SCMPD Homicide investigators and Downtown Precinct patrol officers moved in on the 800 building in Yamacraw Village. They had information that led them to believe Pedro Walker was inside the residence. He would not answer the phone, the door or respond to police demands to come out.
A key was obtained from property maintenance and entry was made into the apartment. After a brief standoff Walker came from an upstairs bedroom and surrendered to police without incident. Walker was taken to SCMPD headquarters for questioning and transported to the Chatham County Detention Center. He was charged with murder.
