SAVANNAH, GA (May 3, 2016): Hard work and determination from the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’ Special Victims Unit led to the arrest of Carlos Moncenter Hodge, 35, a man suspected in four sexual assault cases occurring between Feb. 20 and April 22.
Metro’s Undercover Narcotics Investigation Team (UNIT), spotted Hodge riding a bike on April 30 near the intersection of Jefferson Street and Victory Drive around 12:30 a.m. Officers quickly apprehended Hodge and transported him to SCMPD Headquarters where SVU detectives interviewed him. Hodge was transported to the Chatham County Detention Center without incident on aggravated sodomy and sexual battery charges stemming from a March 1 incident.
Monday afternoon, SVU detectives secured additional warrants for Hodge after linking him to three other cases. Hodge was served warrants at CCDC for two counts of rape, two counts of kidnapping, one count of aggravated assault and one count of aggravated sodomy.
