SAVANNAH, GA (April 21, 2017): The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department received six posters of gratitude from the Lachlan McIntosh Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution Wednesday, April 19. These posters were accepted by SCMPD precinct captains and Chief Joseph H. Lumpkin.
“It meant a great deal to me, along with other members of the Lachlan McIntosh Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, to have the opportunity to express our gratitude to dedicated and courageous police officers who face danger every day on our behalf,” said Chairman Daisy Davis. “Many officers are also veterans and the DAR has a long history of showing appreciation to veterans.”
The Lachlan McIntosh Chapter of the DAR started a new initiative honoring local veterans and law enforcement officers. This initiative includes presenting posters to officers showing the organization’s gratitude and support.
“This was such a kind gesture,” said Cpl. Hillary Nielsen. “ We always appreciate encouragement from the community, and these notes will serve as a great reminder that we have people out there supporting us.”
The posters will be displayed in each precinct as a thank you from the Lachlan McIntosh Chapter of the Daughters of the American revolution.
