SAVANNAH, GA (December 7, 2015): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes detectives are investigating two Sunday shootings, including one resulting in a death.
At about 6:27 p.m. Metro responded to the 300 block of East Anderson Street, where Aaron Anderson, 20, was found outside of a residence with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Memorial University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
Violent Crimes detectives are working to identify suspects. Circumstances leading up to Anderson’s shooting remain under investigation.
Also, at about 4:15 p.m. Metro responded to West 39th and Florence streets, where Ahmahd Canty, 17, was found suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Canty was transported by ambulance to MUMC for care.
Canty was reportedly shot by an unknown subject while walking on West 39th St. Investigators seek to identify any suspects.
