SAVANNAH, GA (October 7, 2017) – Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes detectives are investigating a shooting that possibly occurred near the Yamacraw Village area on October 7.
At about 4:00 p.m., officers responded to the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and West Bay Street, and found Lane Williby, 33, suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. The male subject told police the shooting possibly occurred near the Yamacraw Village area.
Williby was inconsistent in the information he provided to police.
The circumstances leading up to this incident are still under investigation. At this time, the shooting does not appear random.
