SAVANNAH, GA (November 2, 2015): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes detectives are investigating a Monday afternoon shooting on Mitchell and Rayburn streets.
At about 4:45 p.m. Metro officers responded to the scene, but located no victims. Soon after, investigators learned that Todd Nelson, 21, of Savannah arrived at Candler Hospital in a privately owned vehicle, with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Investigators also determined that Jamaal Page, 19, of Savannah arrived at Memorial University Medical Center in a privately owned vehicle with a non-life threating injury. Page was reportedly injured during a physical altercation occurring at the same time and location as the shooting.
Investigators believe Nelson and Page were injured during a fight on Mitchell Street. Detectives are working to identify suspects. Events leading to these injuries remain under investigation.
