SAVANNAH, GA (July 1, 2017) – Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police’s Violent Crimes detectives are investigating the shooting of Dominique Matthews, 30, in the 500 block of Emerald Drive on July 1.
At about 4:30 a.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area. About 45 minutes later, Matthews arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle. Matthews’s injuries are non-life-threatening.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation. Investigators do not believe this to be a random shooting.
