SAVANNAH, GA. (March 13, 2014): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Traffic Unit officers and Georgia State Patrol troopers will be on hand Friday to usher traffic onto the final phase of the Harry S. Truman Parkway on Friday morning.
Patrol cars will pilot the first vehicles from Whitfield Avenue west to Abercorn Street and from Abercorn east to Whitfield. Once the first vehicles complete the trek, officers will disband.
The fifth and final phase of the parkway opens to traffic at 10 a.m. It allows travel between the two roads, over Wilshire Canal and the Vernon River and to White Bluff Road.
