SAVANNAH, GA (August 26, 2015): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Accident Investigations Team responded to a single-vehicle wreck on southbound Harry Truman Parkway this afternoon.
The accident happened just before 4:30 p.m. between Whitfield Avenue and White Bluff Road. Zaqwila King, 46, lost control his 2003 Ford Explorer while changing lanes on south Truman Parkway. The SUV rolled over several times before resting against the guardrail.
King and his passenger Sheila Evans, were transported to Memorial University Medical Center. King was unharmed. Evans sustained serious injuries.
For roughly four hours, traffic on southbound Truman Parkway was delayed for several miles.
Metro’s Southside Precinct patrol officers, Forensics Unit and EMS responded to the scene.
