SAVANNAH, GA (June 27, 2018) – Interstate 16 will be impacted for several hours early June 29 while the Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team reconstructs the May 25 crash that resulted in the death of Savannah Police Officer Anthony Christie.
All eastbound lanes of Interstate 16 will be shut down between Interstate 95 and Chatham Parkway between 2:45 a.m. and 4 a.m. One inside lane of westbound Interstate 16 between Interstate 95 and Chatham Parkway will also be closed during this time. The reconstruction of the crash site is part of the ongoing investigation by Georgia State Patrol into the incident.
Savannah Police’s Traffic Unit will be assisting in the closure of the interstate.
