The Savannah Area Regional Intelligence Center (SARIC)
Mission:
The mission of the Savannah Area Regional Intelligence Center (SARIC) is to deliver timely, precise, substantial law enforcement information, and intelligence to the Savannah Police Department and surrounding area’s law enforcement partners. This mission aims to enhance public safety and security for the City of Savannah, its residents, and visitors to the city.
History:
SARIC was created in 2007 by combining the former Crime Analysis Unit, consisting of civilian staff who were responsible for gathering information and formulating crime patterns and trends, with the former Intelligence Unit, consisting of sworn detectives tasked with seeking information on current criminal activity. As of today, the unit is fully staffed by civilian personnel, including the intelligence unit manager, two principal crime analysts, a senior crime analyst, seven crime analysts, and a crime analyst assistant who provide a range of strategic, tactical, administrative, threat, and real-time analysis.
The Intelligence Unit is commanded by: Faith Croskey
