UPDATE: Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s MAIT detectives have reviewed footage of the vehicle suspected in Monday’s fatal hit-and-run collision on Abercorn Street near Mercy Boulevard. The video confirms the suspect drove a red 2003 Ford Expedition, last seen near Middleground Road and Mohawk Street.
MAIT and Forensics are further analyzing the footage to identify the vehicle’s owner.

SAVANNAH, GA (May 16, 2016): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Accident Investigations Team responded to two hit-and-run collisions on Abercorn Street and Mercy Boulevard, that claimed the life of one person and injured another on Monday, May 16.
At about 12:30 a.m. Scott Fulton, 49, called 911 after witnessing Pamela Sheridan, 33, get struck by a car that fled the scene without stopping. Sheridan was in the middle of the roadway. Fulton reportedly approached Sheridan in an attempt to pull her to safety, when he too was struck by a second hit-and-run driver.
Fulton and Sheridan were transported to Memorial University Medical Center. Sheridan sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Fulton died upon arrival.
MAIT is now searching for a 2003 Ford Expedition believed to have struck Fulton. The SUV is missing the right corner of its front bumper. Investigators also are searching for an unknown car that struck Sheridan before heading toward the rear of St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital.
