Savannah – The Savannah Police Department has arrested Bryan David Smith, 31, in connection with an incident of aggravated battery and kidnapping that occurred on Aug. 9 and left an adult female victim with non-life-threatening injury.
On Aug. 9 at approximately 7:00 a.m., SPD responded to St. Joseph’s Hospital in reference to an assault report. Officers met with the adult female victim and learned that the suspect was her rideshare driver and that the incident had occurred within the 11900 block of Apache Avenue.
Smith was charged on Aug. 18 with criminal attempt (rape), aggravated battery, kidnapping, and robbery by sudden snatching.
