SAVANNAH, GA. (October 1, 2013): Violent Crimes detectives from the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department have charged one man with unrelated crimes as they investigate the shooting of a Savannah woman on Monday.
Roderick Bo Jackson, 29, of the 500 block of West 51st Street, was detained on the first block of East 60th Street moments after the shooting by a detective from the Savannah Area Regional Intelligence Center, a division of SCMPD. Jackson has been charged with obstruction and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He matched the description of one of two men seen running from the area after the woman was shot in her back yard four blocks away at Atlantic Avenue and Columbus Drive about 1:40 p.m.
Jackson is a twice-convicted felon most recently released from the Valdosta Transitional Center in 2011 after serving 21 months of a six-year sentence for armed robbery.
A second man matching the description of the other suspect was detained as well but no charges have been filed against him.
