SAVANNAH, GA (October 28, 2019) – Savannah Police’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a hit and run crash that resulted in injuries to a 57-year-old Savannah bicyclist.
Around 8 p.m. Oct. 27 officers responded to the 3100 block of Montgomery Street and discovered Michael Rowe suffering from injuries. According to preliminary investigation, Rowe was riding a bicycle south in the northbound lane on Montgomery Street at the same time that a Nissan Sentra was traveling south in the southbound lane. The Nissan was passing the bike when Rowe entered the southbound lane and stuck the driver’s door of the vehicle.
The vehicle, which was driven by Danielle Morgan, 43, of Savannah, left the scene but was quickly located by officers at DeRenne Avenue and Bull Street. Morgan was cited for leaving the scene of a crash.
Rowe was transported to Memorial Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. He will be cited for riding a bicycle on the wrong side of the road.
