SAVANNAH, GA. (April 5, 2022): Savannah Police specialized units and the U.S. Marshals’ Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF) arrested Jarvis Walton, who had 23 felony warrants for criminal actions that have occurred throughout the state.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Candler County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of SERFTF in locating Walton, 25, who was wanted on three counts of aggravated assault, five counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, 13 counts of violation of the Street Gang Act, and a single count of kidnapping. Included in the charges are charges stemming from an incident where Walton allegedly fired at law enforcement in Candler County.
On April 4, SERFTF developed information on Walton’s possible whereabouts in Savannah. SERFTF, with the assistance of Savannah Police’s Strategic Investigations Unit and SWAT Team, took Walton into custody without incident at a business on Montgomery Street. He was transported to Chatham County jail to await extradition.
