SAVANNAH – The Savannah Police Department has arrested 41-year-old Donald Palmer Jr. in connection with a Dec. 22 carjacking in the 1300 block of W. Bay St.
Officers initially responded to the scene at 4:40 p.m. on reports of business being robbed. Upon arrival, contact was made with the adult female victim. She informed police a man had pointed a gun at her and taken her vehicle. Officers in the area conducted a canvas of the surrounding area and located the stolen vehicle driving north on Bullock St. across W. Victory Dr. SPD followed the vehicle’s path of travel and located the vehicle disabled at W. 38th St. and Bullock St. after it struck a curb. Palmer was then appended after a brief foot chase. A weapon was also recovered.
Palmer has been charged with hijacking of a motor vehicle, aggravated assault, and interference with government property.
