SAVANNAH – The Savannah Police Department has arrested 44-year-old Brian Williams in connection with a March 5 shooting in the 6000 block of Damascus Rd. that left one adult male with a serious gunshot wound. Williams was taken into custody on the same day.
SPD responded to the scene at around 6:20 a.m. based on reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim wounded in a residence. He was treated on the scene and transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Prior to the arrival of officers, the suspect had fled the scene in a vehicle. Using Flock Safety Cameras, investigators were able to locate the suspect. He was taken into custody with assistance from the Chatham County Police Department.
Williams has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, cruelty to children, and false imprisonment.
