Savannah – The Savannah Police Department has arrested Eric J. Williams, 37, in connection with an Oct. 23 armed robbery of the Bank of America located on E. Victory Drive. He was taken into custody on the same day.
Officers responded to the scene at around 3:40 p.m. based on reports of an armed robbery of a commercial establishment. Prior to officers’ arrival, Williams fled and unsuccessfully attempted to steal two vehicles. He was later taken into custody by SPD patrol units.
Williams has been charged with felony armed robbery.
During the investigation SPD was assisted by the FBI, Chatham County Police Department and Thunderbolt Police, as well as K-9 officers from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office.
