SAVANNAH, GA (June 26, 2022): Savannah Police detectives are investigating an early morning shooting that resulted in three people being injured. Around 1 a.m. today multiple shots were fired in the 200 block of W. St. Julian Street, resulting in three victims being wounded.
Multiple officers were in the immediate vicinity working in a patrol or extra duty capacity and were able to immediately render aid to the victims and help with securing the scene. The three victims, ages 20-23, were transported to a hospital by ambulance for treatment of their injuries. A male victim is suffering from serious injuries but is in stable condition. The other victims – one male and one female – have non-life threatening injuries.
One person of interest was seen fleeing the area. Officers attempted a traffic stop, but he fled and continued to flee until he was caught in Effingham County. He was interviewed by detectives. He was charged with multiple traffic charges but has not been charged in connection to the shooting at this time.
Detectives continue to investigate the incident. No other charges have been filed at this time.
