UPDATE: SPD Detectives Seek ID of Suspect in Property Damage Cases
The suspect has been identified as David Smith III, 29. Due to a call from a citizen, he was located and arrested without incident. He has been found responsible for multiple of the aforementioned property damage cases. Smith has been charged with vandalism, criminal damage to property 2nd degree, interference with government property and criminal trespass.
Additional charges may be forthcoming in additional investigations.

SAVANNAH, GA (January 3, 2019) – Savannah Police’s Northwest Precinct detectives need the public’s help identifying a man suspected in several property damage cases.
Since Dec. 28, there have been eight reports of property damage in the downtown area that detectives believe could be connected. Surveillance footage caught an image of the suspect in at least one of the cases.
The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 25 and 30 and approximately 185-200 lbs., and 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue short-sleeve button-up shirt and blue pants.
