SAVANNAH – The Savannah Police Department arrested Gary Washington, 23, and Kadeem Grant, 29, as well as seized drugs and multiple guns during a patrol of Kayton Homes as part of the Violent Crimes Task Force.
Gary Washington, 23, was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, and a vehicle window tint violation.
Kadeem Grant, 29, was charged with possession of marijuana under one ounce and possession of open alcohol in a motor vehicle.
On April 26 at approximately 12:00 a.m., officers were patrolling the Kayton Homes area when they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. Upon approaching, the officers immediately detected the odor of marijuana. A search of the vehicle was conducted, resulting in the discovery of four firearms, along with over 500 rounds of ammunition, drugs, and distribution paraphernalia.
