SAVANNAH, GA (October 16, 2021) – Savannah Police Department detectives have arrested a woman in connection to an Oct. 15 incident that resulted in the shooting of two people and the injury of a third.
Quanula Selverstine Griffin, 31, was booked into the Chatham County jail the evening of Oct. 15 on three counts of aggravated assault.
Around 3 p.m. officers responded to the 600 block of Brewer Street in Kayton Homes in reference to a shooting and discovered Shawna Gadson, 44, and Tequila Owens, 26, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims, who are mother and daughter, were transported to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Eric Starr, 30, was also suffering from non-life threatening injuries after being struck by an object during the altercation.
When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect had already fled, but was quickly identified by detectives as Griffin. An initial investigation determined the shooting was the result of a dispute between neighbors. The incident remains under investigation.
