SAVANNAH, GA (May 1, 2019) – Family, friends and Savannah Police employees gathered today as the department honored 68 individuals who reached major milestones in their careers.

The 68 men and women honored represented numerous units of the department from patrol and the property room to budget and investigations. The afternoon luncheon took place in the Savannah Civic Center Ballroom and was attended by Mayor Eddie DeLoach, Alderman Julian Miller, City Manager Rob Hernandez and members of the City’s leadership team.

Chief Roy Minter praised the officers and civilian staff for their commitment to service saying, “Thank you, thank you, thank you. We truly cannot express the breadth of our gratitude for your tremendous work and outstanding dedication to this department and the people of the City of Savannah.”

One employee, Ola Holmes, celebrated 45 years of service. Two have reached their 35-year milestone, nine celebrated 30 years of service, two celebrated 20 years of service, 12 were honored for 15 years of service, 15 celebrated 10 years of service and 18 were recognized for five years of service.
