SAVANNAH, GA (December 31, 2018) – Today Savannah Police Violent Crimes detectives served murder warrants on a suspect connected to two homicides that occurred on Nov. 14, 2015.
The suspect, Nathaniel Thomas Pugh III, 36, is currently housed at the Jesup Federal Correctional Institute on a separate case. Warrants were served at the correctional facility.
Just prior to 1 a.m. Nov. 14, officers responded to Candler Hospital where Robert Brown, 18, had arrived by a private vehicle. He died as a result of his injuries. The shooting was determined to have occurred in the area of 57th and Montgomery streets.
At 2:30 a.m. officers responded to the area of W. 45th and Montgomery streets and discovered Emmanuel Simmons, 31, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital where he died as result of his injuries.
“The families of these victims never gave up hope that the tragic death of their loved ones would be solved,” said Chief Roy Minter. “Today’s announcement makes it clear that our department and investigators also never gave up on these investigations.”
