SAVANNAH, GA ( January 18, 2012 ) a local trucking company is out thousands of dollars worth of merchandise, and police seek the public’s assistance in identifying the thieves.
December 13, officers were called to the 400 Block of Bourne Avenue after receiving a call about a stolen truck. They were told that a Kenworth truck full of thousands of dollars worth of roofing shingles had been taken. This was the second such theft in three months.
Both trucks were eventually left abandoned on I-95 in the Richmond Hill area, empty. The value of the shingles is approximately $25,000, each truck-load.
SCMPD Forensics responded and dusted the vehicles for prints. Detectives are actively following up on leads, but are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the thieves. .
