SAVANNAH, GA (November 15, 2011): Metro Police are investigating the second shooting in three days at a dice game after a man was shot during a robbery attempt this afternoon.
Jeffrey Sams, 18, of an Egmont Road address was participating in the game on the 300 block of Lewis Drive in Patterson Terrace. About 2 p.m., another man walked up and tried to rob the participants. During the robbery, the victim was shot in the groin area. The black male suspect ran after the shooting.
Sams managed to run through an opening in a fence to his apartment in the Leesgate Drive subdivision where police were called. He was transported to Memorial University Medical Center with non-life threatening wounds.
The investigation is continuing into the shooting and identification of the suspect.
Another man, Cedric Brown, 22, of the 4200 block of Boyd Street, was shot at his house Sunday after another dice game. Police have drawn warrants charging Raashad D. Hunt, 23, with aggravated assault in that case and are searching for him. He is considered armed and dangerous.
