SAVANNAH, GA. (October 2, 2013): A Savannah woman was killed this morning after losing control of the pickup truck she was driving and crashing on Interstate 516.
The driver, whose name is being withheld until family is notified, died instantly after being ejected from the truck that continued driverless before crashing into the wood line beside the interstate.
The pickup was being driven eastbound at 11:31 a.m. just past the intersection of Veterans Parkway when the driver lost control and entered the median, over corrected and crossed the east bound lanes and into the guardrail.
The Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department continues to investigate the crash.
