SAVANNAH GA ( January 13, 2011) The Savannah-Chatham Metro Police have arrested a woman and charged her with four counts of aggravated assault after a confrontation at a downtown nightclub.
Just before 2 :00 a.m., on January 8, shots rang out in front of Deja Groove Night Club. Earlier in the evening eight people had become engaged in an altercation that had gone from verbal to physical. The four women that had instigated the altercation had been kicked out of the club. Later when the Victims left the club they were confronted again.
The four female victims, the two women who instigated the altercation, and at least one male subject involved are all active duty military stationed at Hunter Army Airfield ( HAAF). One of the suspects Iasia Ebony OWENS, walked to her car and retrieved a hand gun. The four victims were leaving the area and walking up the stairs to Bay Street from Factors Walk when OWENS started firing the gun in their direction. OWENS then jumped in the car with the other subjects, and was last seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed.
SCMPD Detectives along with HAAF Criminal Investigations Division worked together and have made an arrest. Iasia Ebony OWENS, 21, was arrested last night and charged with four counts of aggravated assault. She was transported to the Chatham County Detention Center.
