SAVANNAH, GA. (December 3, 2013): Traffic investigators are seeking witnesses who may have seen a Wilmington Island man walking on Johnny Mercer Boulevard before he was struck by a car and killed Thanksgiving morning.
Jonathan Edwards, 35, of a Bryan Wood Circle address, died just east of the Spencer Grayson Bridge over Turner’s Creek shortly before midnight Wednesday. He is believed to have been walking west toward the bridge when he was struck. He was wearing black leather jacket and blue jeans and light tan work boots at the time.
Officers with the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department are asking anyone who saw him walking before the accident to call them at (912) 525-2421.
Jessica Krebs, 25, of a Shamrock Circle address, was identified as the driver of the vehicle that did not stop. She has been charged with driving under the influence, hit and run with fatal injuries and first degree vehicular homicide.
