SAVANNAH, GA (October 1, 2013): Traffic on West Bay Street is being diverted to Augusta Avenue as Savannah Fire And Rescue works to clean up a chemical spill.
A truck leaking sulfuric acid caused the incident at Old West Lathrop and Bay. The detour is expected to last until at least 8:30 a.m.
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are diverting traffic on West Bay to Augusta Avenue and Graham Streets.
Motorists are advised to use caution and patience while driving through the area.
