SAVANNAH, GA (March 18, 2017) – Law enforcement officers made six felony and seventeen misdemeanor arrests in the Savannah St. Patrick’s Day “Festival Zone” Friday Mar. 17, after the parade and during the evening’s festivities.
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department, CNT, GSP, and Effingham County Sheriff’s Office are among the agencies that made arrests. Five of the felony arrests were for possession of a controlled substance and one was for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The misdemeanor arrests included criminal trespass (2), disorderly conduct (3), driving under the influence (1), obstruction (1), open container (1), possession of false identification (1), possession of marijuana (2), public indecency (1), public intoxication (2), simple battery (1), and underage drinking (2).
The criminal trespass offenses both happened in City Market. In one, the subject broke a window at Wet Willie’s and then resisted arrest. In the other, the subject broke a car window.
