SAVANNAH, GA (May 26, 2015): Savannah-Chatham Metro Police units will be conducting an active shooter training session near Interstate 95 and Fort Argyle Road Thursday.

Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and Explosive Ordnance Device (bomb squad) units will engage explosives, flash bangs and training weapons to simulate a lone wolf terrorist attack on West Gateway Boulevard. The training will be conducted intermittently between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The public is being advised to avoid confusion or undue concern but members of the public will not be allowed inside the training sessions for security and safety purposes.
