SAVANNAH, GA (December 1, 2015): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police along with City of Savannah traffic engineers and the Citizens Office are coordinating with the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office regarding funeral plans for Chatham County Sheriff Al St Lawrence.
Hundreds of sheriffs, police chiefs, law enforcement officers and dignitaries are expected to attend the funeral on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Cathedral in downtown Savannah.
Parking will be prohibited on Abercorn Street between Gordon and Liberty streets and on Lincoln Street between Gordon and Liberty streets beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The road will be closed to motorists beginning at 11 a.m.
A processional will take place following the funeral service from the Cathedral to Bonaventure Ceremony. Law Enforcement officers will be blocking traffic at intersections on Liberty Street, Wheaton Street, Skidaway Road and Bonaventure Road.
Officers will be working diligently reopen the roads as quickly as possible.
