Feb 24 Update: Ivan Cobos, 20, succumbed to his injuries today due to the Feb. 23 crash on Victory Drive. None of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash. SPD continues to encourage motorists and passengers to always wear their seat belt.

SAVANNAH, GA (February 23, 2020) – Savannah Police’s Traffic Investigation Unit (TIU) is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred early this morning on Victory Drive and Ash Street.

Around 2:40 a.m., officers arrived on scene and located a Honda Civic, which crashed into a palm tree. A preliminary investigation revealed that Ivan Cobos, 20, was traveling eastbound on Victory Drive in a reckless manner, swerved into the median and struck the tree.

Cobos as well as passengers, Julio Medrano, 22, Alexander Navedo, 20, and Milo Rodriguez, 17, were all transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

TIU continues to investigate this crash.
