SAVANNAH, GA (April 27, 2020) – Savannah Police’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a pedestrian-involved crash that resulted in life-threatening injuries for a 39-year-old Savannah man.
According to a preliminary investigation, Madison Freeland was traveling south on Truman Parkway at a high rate of speed around 8:45 p.m. April 26. For unknown reasons, his blue Hyundai struck the inside wall of the southbound lanes near the White Bluff Road off ramp. The vehicle continue to travel before coming to rest facing the southbound wall and across the left lane. Freeland exited the vehicle and was soon after struck by an oncoming Ford Escape driven by Derrick Wilson, 35, of Savannah.
Freeland was transported to Memorial Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
