SAVANNAH, GA (December 21, 2018) – Savannah Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a morning crash where one person died from a possible medical episode.
Around 11:20 a.m. today John W. Douglas, 70, of Savannah, was traveling south on Seawright Drive in a 2014 Nissan Sentra when he had what is believed to be a medical episode that caused him to disregard the traffic signal at Eisenhower Drive. This resulted in the Sentra striking a 2010 Toyota Sequoia that was traveling west on Eisenhower Drive. The Sequoia was driven by William Brown III, 42, of Savannah.
Douglas was transported to Memorial Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. No other injuries were reported.
