TIU Investigates Abercorn Street Pedestrian-Involved Crash

SAVANNAH, GA (June 24, 2018) – Savannah Police’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a pedestrian-involved crash that occurred on the 14000 block of Abercorn Street Saturday, June 23.

At around 8:30 p.m., a group of pedestrians were walking in the parking lot of the Savannah Mall when Paul Folsome, 59, driving a Toyota Corolla noticed them and proceeded to stop. Julia Stewart, 63, driving a Toyota Avalon was traveling behind Folsom and did not stop. This caused her vehicle to strike the rear of Folsome’s vehicle, which pushed his vehicle into the pedestrians.

Ronald Edwards, 46, Mackenzie Edwards, 18, and Jacob Craven, 20, were knocked down, and one of them received serious injuries. Folsome and the pedestrians were transported to the hospital for further treatment.

The TIU is continuing to investigate this crash.
