SAVANNAH, GA (May 1, 2015): Early Thursday morning, collaboration by Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Central, Downtown and Islands precincts led to the arrest of two armed carjacking suspects, less than 15 minutes after the crime was committed.

Tyrell Kimble, 17, and his 16-year-old accomplice were arrested. Kimble is charged with theft by receiving stolen auto, fleeing to elude and obstruction by hindering. The 16-year-old was charged with obstruction by hindering, then released to a guardian.

At about 1 a.m., Downtown Precinct officers responded to a reported carjacking at the intersection of Waters Avenue and East Henry Street.
