SAVANNAH, GA (May 29, 2015): The device that led to the evacuation of a downtown apartment complex Friday afternoon has been identified as a measuring device for a construction company.

Residents of Frogtown Apartments, near Berrien and Selma streets, were evacuated as Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police investigated the suspicious package. Metro’s Explosive Ordinance Device Team identified it as a seismic device that actually was being used for measurements for a construction company working in the area.

Residents have been allowed back in.
