SAVANNAH, GA. (October 2, 2013): A 29-year-old man being held on other charges after the shooting of a woman in Olin Heights Monday, now has been charged with the shooting.
Roderick Bo Jackson, 29, of the 500 block of West 51st Street, has been charged with aggravated assault in the shooting of the 63-year-old woman who was in her back yard when she was injured Monday.
He had been detained on the first block of East 60th Street moments after the shooting by a detective from the Savannah Area Regional Intelligence Center, a division of SCMPD. Jackson has been charged with obstruction and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He matched the description of one of two men seen running from the area after the woman was shot in her back yard four blocks away at Atlantic Avenue and Columbus Drive about 1:40 p.m.
Jackson is a twice-convicted felon most recently released from the Valdosta Transitional Center in 2011 after serving 21 months of a six-year sentence for armed robbery.
A second man matching the description of the other suspect was detained as well but no charges have been filed against him.
