NOV. 5, 2020 UPDATE: Further investigation identified Parcardi Trappio as a suspect in the June 10 homicide of Latanya Williams, 17. On Wednesday, November 4, while detained at the Chatham County Detention Center for unrelated charges, detectives served Trappio with a warrant for murder in connection to this case.
SAVANNAH, GA (June 11, 2020) – Savannah Police Violent Crimes detectives are investigating a double shooting that resulted in one fatality yesterday evening.
Shortly before 7 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of Staley Avenue on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located a vehicle damaged from gunfire. Inside the vehicle was shooting victim Latanya Williams, 17, who sustained gunshot wounds. She was transported to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. A second victim, Akeem Williams, 27, was transported to the hospital by private vehicle before officers’ arrival. He received a minor injury and is in stable condition.
