SAVANNAH, GA (May 18, 2016): Traffic in the Savannah area will be impacted on Saturday, May 21 as several events across the area convene. Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department will be closing streets and monitoring traffic to assist with delays.

2016 Color Run

The 2016 Color Run will take place at Forsyth Park. Traffic flow could be impacted from setup at 5:30 a.m. until the end of the Color Run Festival at 1 p.m. Streets along the Downtown Savannah route will close temporarily as runners pass.  Color Zones at West Liberty Street and Bull Street, Barnard Street near Orleans Square, and Lincoln Street between Congress and East Bolton streets will be closed for the duration of the run.

Traffic flow in this area is expected to return to normal by 4 p.m.

Miles for Meals

The Miles for Meals Run by Senior Citizen’s Incorporated will take place at Daffin Park from 8-11 a.m. Interior roads to Daffin Park will be closed. Kerry Street and Bee Road will experience traffic delays intermittently.

Nine Line for the Wounded Run

The Nine Line for the Wounded Run will be held on Hutchinson Island and will shut down Grand Prize of America Boulevard from 6-10 p.m.

SCAD Fashion Show Block Party

The SCAD Fashion Show Block Party will take place in Downtown Savannah. Broughton Street from Abercorn to Lincoln Streets will be closed from 4-10 p.m.

Metro urges citizens to exercise patience as there may be traffic delays.
