SCMPD Investigates W. 59th St. Robbery, Shooting

SAVANNAH, GA (December 3, 2016): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes investigators seek information on a reported West 59th Street shooting that injured a 22-year-old man on Saturday, Dec. 3.

Just before 4 p.m. Metro officers responded to Memorial University Medical Center, where Cody Youmans arrived in a privately-owned vehicle seeking treatment of a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Youmans was reportedly walking on West 59th Street, between Montgomery and Bull streets, when two armed males walked toward him demanding his possessions. Reportedly, Youmans attempted to run away when he was shot.
