UPDATE 2: SAVANNAH, GA (May 19, 2016): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department officers, K9, and the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force of the U.S. Marshals Service apprehended a fugitive May 19 who was wanted for murder.
Kiwani Khalif Patterson, 25, was taken into custody at approximately 2 p.m., May 19. He is charged with the April 24 murder of Tarik Bentley in the 1900 block of East DeRenne Avenue.

UPDATE: Tarik Rasheen Bentley, 35, has been identified as the victim in the April 24 homicide in the 1900 block of East DeRenne Avenue. When Metro officers responded to the residence, they found Bentley deceased from a gunshot wound. This homicide remains under investigation. SAVANNAH, GA (April 24, 2016): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department Violent Crimes detectives are investigating a homicide that was reported at approximately 7 a.m., April 24, inside a residence in the 1900 block of DeRenne Avenue.
One black male victim was found dead of a gunshot wound at the scene. This is currently an active crime scene as detectives try to determine the events that led to his death.
