SAVANNAH, GA (January 7, 2016): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police responded to an armed robbery Jan. 6, near the Oglethorpe Mall.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., a 22-year-old female was attempting to enter her vehicle when she was approached by a black male who asked her for a lighter. The victim supplied the lighter before the suspect presented a gun and robbed her of her purse.
After the suspect fled on foot, the victim ran to a mall security guard who called police.
The suspect, described as a 6-foot-1, dark-skinned black male weighing approximately 160-165 pounds, was last seen running eastbound toward Hodgson Memorial Drive.
