SAVANNAH, GA (August 17, 2018) – Savannah Police Department officers quickly arrested two 18-year-old males for a robbery and kidnapping that occurred yesterday evening.
An investigation revealed that the incident took place at around 8 p.m. on the 14000 block of Abercorn Street. Two males approached the adult male victim, brandished a firearm and demanded his keys and money. The victim complied, but the suspects were unable to start the vehicle. The suspects then forced him to drive them to a location. The victim was able to convince the suspects to let him drive them to a bus station on the 600 block of W. Oglethorpe Avenue. He then left the scene to call police.
Due to officers’ quick response, they located both suspects. Jaden Larry and Taechaun Jones were arrested and charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, hijacking a motor vehicle and theft by receiving stolen property.
“The collaboration between our detectives and patrol officers resulted in the quick and successful apprehension of two violent offenders,” said Chief Mark Revenew. “Crime will not be tolerated in our community, and we will continue to utilize all of our resources to capture those who choose to perform criminal activity.”
