SAVANNAH, GA ( July 27, 2011) Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police have questioned a man arrested on drug charges in Bluffton, SC, about a homicide in Savannah on July 6.
Savannah police had been looking for Steve Ray Dunbar, Jr., 23, since they found James Griffin slumped over in his pickup truck in the 1700 block of LeGrande Street. Griffin was transported to Memorial University Medical Center where he died soon after the shooting.
The U.S. Marshal Service, seeking Dunbar on behalf of SCMPD, arrested him in Bluffton on Monday with the help of the Beaufort County Drug Squad. He was charged with possession of controlled substances by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office and is awaiting extradition to Savannah.
